Film by Rachel Scrivo

This film is about what expression can do and be for someone. Dance can make a difference in someone's mental health and in someone's journey. As a survivor, advocator, and mental health worker, dancing helped me keep regulated in the intense situations I was handling. Finding healthy ways to express feelings and situations that society likes to keep quiet and point shame to was important in developing my identity and who I wanted to be. I did not know where and who I was going to be because I saw myself as someone that did not deserve light or a chance. Yellow means a light and chance to me. I chose the main character to hold the yellow hue to represent that because I found the colour yellow to represent that survival, strength, and sense of determination.
