Open Water

Open Water

When submerged, I still dream

Like a worm, my skin will breathe for me.

Then my lungs will shrivel up,

And my heart will eat the debris

As a heart is rarely satisfied,

Even lording over a kingdom of guts.

Without fear

Or love

Or consciousness

I will enter the onyx waves knowing only wetness

And blindness will liberate me.
