salty tears

poetrySkinned Knees
salty tears

Salty tears gather

and roll down

slightly stinging my face.

Thinking about

where bodies go

when their hearts

do not race.

Do souls float upwards

to another distant

yet graceful place?

I fear

there isn't such thing

with no one to hold you

and feel your embrace.

This I cannot bear,

it may have been

all for nothing

life can be so cruel

and very unfair.
